On our radio show, Marriage and Family Therapist Donna Sardisco shared wonderful steps to cope with the stress of the holidays, especially when it comes to healing from challenging relationships.  Here are those powerful keys:

1. Right Relationship with the Lord

Daily Bible Reading

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against Thee.’ Psalm 119:11 (KJV)

Daily Prayer

“Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (¥JV)

No Deliberate Sin

“Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.” Romans 6:6 (KJV)

2. Forgiving

“… Vengeance is Mine, I will repay (requite), says the Lord.” Romans 12:19 (AMP) “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,” Matthew 5:44 (NKJV)

3. Crying

“O Lord my God, I cried to You and You have healed me.” Psalm 30:2 (AMP) “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.. .A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.” Ecclesiastes 3:1,4 (KJV)

4. Journaling

“My heart is overflowing with a good theme; I recite my composition concerning the King; My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.” Psalm 45:1 (NKJV)

5. Talking

“My heart is overflowing with a good theme; I recite my composition concerning the King; My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.” Psalm 45:1 (NKJV) “Where there is no counsel, purposes are frustrated, but with many counselors they are accomplished.” Proverbs 15:22 (AMP)

6. Ask

What do I need to do for healiog? Which of these above steps needs my attention first? “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.” James 1:5-6 (NKJV)
